〜間
〜間 means during; while, throughout. It is a JLPT N4 grammar point. Use this pattern for an action or state that continues during a period. The following action often continues throughout that whole time.
Japanese sources describe it as 「〜している時間ずっと」.

電車に乗っている間、本を読みます。
I read while I am on the train.
夏休みの間、国へ帰ります。
I go back to my country during summer vacation.
