01 / THE STUDY ROUTINE
Learn it. Recall it. Make it stay.
Spend less time deciding what to study. The curriculum guides what comes next; spaced repetition takes care of when to review.
Learn a new word
232 units and 793 lessons ordered by real-world frequency, grouped into 36 everyday themes so new words show up in sentences right away.
Recall it yourself
A kana-aware matcher grades your romaji as you type. You practise typing with the words you are learning, so your hands and memory train together.
Review before it fades
A half-life model estimates when each word is about to fade and asks you just before it does. Solid words show up less often, shaky ones more.
A different interval for every word. Familiar words return less often; difficult ones more.

04 / FAQ
Before you get started.
Is JpMaster free?
Yes. Sign up and you get every JLPT N5 to N1 word and grammar point, typing practice, and mock exams with no limits.
What is spaced repetition?
It means reviewing something just before you would forget it. JpMaster estimates a memory half-life for every word and schedules reviews from it, so you stop spending time on words you already know and concentrate on the ones slipping away.
Can I start as a complete beginner?
Yes. The first N5 unit starts with basic expressions, and every word has a reading and meaning. Each unit requires 80% correct to unlock the next one.
How many words are included?
7,851 words and 280 grammar points spanning JLPT N5 through N1. The 1,957 kanji used across those words are browsable one kanji at a time.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in your browser. You can also add it to your home screen for an app-like launch.
