〜の（同格・説明）
〜の（同格・説明） means as; called; who is (apposition/explanation). It is a JLPT N5 grammar point. Use `noun A の noun B` when A explains who or what B is. Here it is not possession; the two nouns refer to the same person or thing.
Japanese sources describe it as 「同格・説明の「の」」.
