〜が必要
〜が必要 means to need; to be necessary. It is a JLPT N4 grammar point. Use 「が必要」 after a noun to say that an item or condition is necessary. In polite speech, use 「〜が必要です」.
Japanese sources describe it as 「〜がいる、必要だ」.
